One of the main concerns to the Health & Safety Executive is the exposure of non-asbestos workers to asbestos fibres in the course of their work in construction or construction-related trades. Those legally requiring asbestos awareness training include general maintenance staff, electricians, plumbers, gas fitters, painters and decorators, joiners, plasterers, construction workers, demolition workers, roofers, heating and ventilation engineers, security system installers, shop fitters etc. The legal requirement also extends to professional services who may supervise or manage construction projects, such as architects, building surveyors and engineers.
ABS Ltd is a member of UKATA (UK Asbestos Training Association) and supplies certificated training in asbestos awareness.
CAR 2012 - Regulations (Control of Asbestos) Information, Instruction and Training states the requirement for any personnel involved in the construction and allied trades to receive a minimum half-day training in Asbestos Awareness to ensure awareness of the risk associated with exposure to asbestos.
Asbestos Awareness Training
We can tailor training sessions to your requirements, depending on the type of work you or your organisation undertakes.
In general, the course is geared towards sub-contractors and small works trades. The awareness training course delivers a basic introduction to where asbestos materials are found and equips delegates to enable them to work safely and prevent any unnecessary exposure to asbestos fibres.
